New Survey Shows Unmarried Women Will Turn Out and Vote for Candidates Who Support Equal Pay and the Women’s Economic Agenda
A new survey by Democracy Corps and the Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund shows strong support for equal pay and other core elements on the Women’s Economic Agenda.
“The turnout and support of unmarried women and the rest of the Rising American Electorate–Latinos, African Americans and young voters–will determine the 2014 elections,” said Page Gardner, President and Founder of the Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund. “This survey is a roadmap showing candidates how to succeed, by speaking about equal pay and an economic agenda that benefits women and their families. Our poll makes clear that raising the minimum wage, ensuring equal pay for women and guaranteeing paid sick leave for working women are popular policies that will win elections.”
