Statement on CBO Score of Senate Health Care Bill

June 26, 2017

The Senate Republican health care bill would leave 22 million Americans without health insurance by 2026, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis of the plan being rushed to a vote this week.  As soon as next year, 15 million more people would not be insured compared with the current law, according to the CBO.

“This is a country that was built on the premise and promise that every American who works hard can be successful. The Senate GOP health care bill robs us of that.” explained WVWVAF President Page Gardner. “How can individuals – including millions of children succeed- if they don’t have access to basic medical services. We are turning our backs on the future of America.”
