Unmarried women and the Rising American Electorate could drive progress… but only if they get involved. Our mission is to help them do that.
Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to increasing the voting participation and issue advocacy of the Rising American Electorate — unmarried women, people of color, and millennials.
Founded in 2005, the Action Fund’s mission is to fight for unmarried women and the Rising American Electorate — by raising awareness about this important political grouping among thought leaders, by conducting research into the messages and values that resonate with the Rising American Electorate, and by advocating for progressive policies that impact the everyday lives of the RAE and bringing attention to public officials’ positions on those policies.
Unmarried women are one of the fastest growing demographic groups in America, making up over 25 percent of all voting-age Americans and a majority of all vote-eligible women; the Rising American Electorate, which includes unmarried women as well as people of color and millennials, were the majority of the vote-eligible population in 2016, for the first time in American history.
The Rising American Electorate was one of the major drivers behind progressive victories in 2008 and 2012 — and they could be again in the future, if they show up to vote their progressive values in numbers that represent their growing demographic strength.
Our goal is to help the Rising American Electorate express their progressive values at the polls and in the halls of government by implementing innovative, research-driven voter education and advocacy programs, and by advocating to elected officials, political figures, and thought leaders that the RAE and their concerns could mean the difference between victory or defeat in the next election.
